Carlton Landing at Lake Eufaula is located just 90 minutes from Tulsa, 2 hours from Oklahoma City and 3 hours from Dallas and is the perfect road trip from Texas or Oklahoma.

From Bocce Ball Park and the outdoor ping pong tables to the community pools and parks, Carlton Landing was designed to bring people together with spots all over to gather as a community. When you’re here, you’ll find that it’s easy to “stop and smell the roses” and take time to enjoy the simpler days when you are at Lake Eufaula. Sometimes it is nice to go with the flow or have zero concrete plans or sit on your front porch with a good book and glass of iced tea – truly living the lake life.

If you are coming in from Tulsa, you could stop at the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in Muskogee to learn about Oklahoma’s distinctive musical tradition; or even a quick stop at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park (be sure to check for seasonal hours) just before you get to Carlton Landing for a round of mini golf. From Oklahoma City, you can stretch your legs and let the kiddos explore the Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum in Seminole; or take a quick detour off I-40 in Okemah – the birthplace of folk music legend Woody Guthrie.

Once you arrive at Carlton Landing, you’ll be ready to settle in to your home away from home for the weekend. You surely worked up an appetite on the road and Mama Tig’s Wood Fired Pizza is guaranteed to hit the spot. Mama Tig’s is a local, family-run restaurant that specializes in wood-fired pizzas and calzones; make sure to grab a bottle of wine on your way from The Meeting House  because Mama Tig’s is BYOB and they’ll open it for you. If you’re visiting during the Spring or Summer, you’ll want to order some gelato to take with you down to the Swim Beach to watch the sun set. There are endless activities for the entire family, just a walk, bike ride or scooter away. Don’t worry if you didn’t pack your own bike or scooter, you can check out The Bike Shack for rentals.

Start your Saturday morning off with a Rise & Shine community all level yoga class at the Town Pavilion before stopping by The Meeting House for a cup of coffee and breakfast – their menu changes weekly and it does not disappoint. Now it’s time to explore beautiful Lake Eufaula! You can rent a boat for the day from the Carlton Landing Boat Club – be sure to call in advance to make a reservation.

Spring and Summer guests will want to be sure to spend a day on the water followed by a visit to Food Truck Park for a variety of local fare. Or if you want to stay in, but you’re not in the mood to cook, why not book a personal chef to prepare dinner at your home while you’re out having fun, so you can spend all the free time possible relaxing. End the night around one of the community fire pits, roasting s’mores and taking an evening stroll around town.  If you have little ones, you may want to scooter your way over to one of the numerous parks. On your last morning in Carlton Landing, start the day with a breakfast at home on your front porch taking in the morning air. If you’re interested, there is a 10:00 a.m. service at the CL Community Church on Water Street. And because you want to fit in one last adventure before heading home, make your way over to The Kayak Shack to rent a kayak or paddle board and soak up the last moments on Lake Eufaula before packing up to head home.
