Winter whites

February 6, 2018

As a color lover, white is my favorite neutral because it plays so well with any other hue. It allows for high contrast or serenity, depending on what other shade you pair it with. Bright, unmuddied hues are always a welcome match with an equally bold, clean white.  But remember — always ALWAYS test your paint on whatever surface you’re painting before you commit to an entire gallon or two. White paints come in every single color of the rainbow and the wrong hue can swiftly turn everything sour.

Love this bold tomato red door on a new home being built around the corner from us.

White trim continues to be a favorite as well, and it provides a crisp outline for this happy little yellow cottage.

A pretty playroom over on Firefly Park features a white sofa against white walls. Vintage decor give this space a ton of personality.

White kitchens and bathrooms are perpetually cheerful and crisp. Update your hardware with brass to give it a fresh spin.

Blue and white will always be a happy pair, and the stunning honeyed wood of these gorgeous herringbone floors give it an overall feeling of warmth.

Black and white will always be a consistent classic and is practically foolproof.

Add texture in an all-white space through use of neutral fabrics and details. In this master bedroom, the Roman shades and linen chair keep the room from feeling too stark and cold.

Are you ready to whip out your paintbrush yet? I can’t get enough of all of these beautiful bright whites.]]>
